About Maddy

I’m Maddy Andrews, I’m a Broadcast Journalism student, currently living in Stoke-on-Trent. I’m a huge football fan, and support the mighty Southampton FC, and their goal machine.

I volunteer at the student radio station, One Media Radio,  at Staffordshire University, I’m currently Deputy News Editor, and I recently found out that as of September, I’ll be Editor in Chief.

I’m originally from east Manchester, and loads of people ask me “why Stoke?” and I can see why. Manchester is a vibrant city with loads going on, a lot more than Stoke, so most are curious as to why I moved away from somewhere which has so much going for it, and would be a great place to look for a Journalism job, as Media City is now there. The reason I moved to Stoke, and chose Staffs as my uni was simple, it’s a great course, and I’d heard a lot of good things about it, also, I wanted to start fresh. I liked college, but I wanted to meet new, more consistent people, and I have. I love the friends I’ve made here and I don’t regret my choice to move here.

Loads of people bitch that they go to Stoke, and I have nothing to say to them, a lot of them chose to live here, I did and I’ve never looked back. This isn’t me saying I want to live here forever, but if I got a good job offer here, there would be no way I’d turning it down.

That’s a little bit about me, if you want to know anything more that you can’t deduce from my blog, or my tweets, then ask.
